Erika + Pat’s dreamy Colorado Sunrise Session
Erika and Pat are one of my favorite couples to work with, from their engagement to their wedding, and now to this dreamy Colorado sunrise session! They are always willing to try anything, even if it means getting up way before the dawn to capture the perfect Colorado colors. Pat and Erika got adventurous when choosing this bit of the stunning Colorado landscape. These two were full of laughter and joy while trying to keep warm on top of a very windy mountain pass. Can you tell they are trying to warm each other up? These two really weathered the cold, tossing their jackets aside between photos. Erika coaxed Pat into going without the jacket to complete the look they had put together. You know you have a winner when he will just wear a button-down to make sure you get the perfect holiday photos!
After we photographed on the summit of the pass we drove down the mountain. Then back into the trees to capture some of that yellow aspen magic. What would a dreamy Colorado session be without a few aspen trees? If you’ve ever been in Colorado around September, you know how magical it can be to see whole hillsides change to a brilliant yellow. It’s the perfect mystical touch to any photo. Aspen trees remain my favorite tree, I’m convinced that “The Lorax” is inspired by these dreamy trees.
I adore watching couples and families grow! It is such an honor to get to photograph the moments and memories of someone’s lives. Photographs can become the way we tell the stories of our lives and the way that our descendants feel connected to us. It truly is a dream profession.
