Mallory + Stuart: A Romantic Wilmington Wedding

This romantic Wilmington wedding is near and dear to my heart, as Mallory is my new cousin after my Uncle wed her mom. I was so grateful that they trusted me to shoot this special day for them, and that I got to be there to enjoy the day! North Carolina is my home state, and any excuse to travel back there brings joy to my heart. Mallory and Stuart picked the perfect time in one of the best cities in the state for their wedding. But first lets back up a bit.

Mallory and Stuart’s love story starts with a mutual friend who just knew they were destined to be, sending the fateful message “Mallory this is your husband, he is so great and I can’t wait for you to meet him!” Both laughed, thinking they would never meet, but their friend persisted. And eventually, Stuart struck up a conversation and their first phone call lasted 5 hours! Instantly they knew that this was something rare, and a year later Stuart dropped to one knee on the boardwalk in downtown Wilmington, with the Cape Fear River and Memorial Bridge in the background, Mallory said yes.

After finding the perfect house in Wilmington to call home and the perfect venue to say I do. They set a date, November 3, 2017, the ultimate day for their romantic Wilmington wedding.

Mallory and Stuart tied the knot at Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown Wilmington. The remodeled old church, classic courtyard, and small side house offered everything they could ever want for the day. The Brooklyn Arts Center gushed with lush greenery, exquisite flowers, and joy. Mallory stunned in a classic long sleeve lace gown, with a cathedral veil, while Stuart radiated in bright blue. The two held hands while they read letters to one another before catching sight of one another across the aisle. The beautiful ceremony was followed by a raucous trip around town in a classic trolley car with the wedding party. After a few quick photos at the site of the engagement, it was off to party!

The reception was filled with lively music from the Irresistible Groove, and delectable food from Pine Valley Market. The crowd laughed and cried through speeches from the mother of the bride, maid of honor and best man. Then they turned to the dance floor for the rest of the night. The party ended with a lively Clemson Tigers chant, followed by a gorgeous sparkler exit. Mallory and Stuart were then whisked off in a Rolls Royce to their new life together!
